Who We Are

Nevadans for Quality Education (NQE) is a non-profit organization funded through membership dues and private donations. NQE was founded by five education activists who together saw the need for communities to come together in an organized manner to improve education and foster academic achievement for Nevada’s children.

Unlike other parent or citizen groups that focus primarily on a particular school or issue, NQE is looking at education as a whole in the State of Nevada. NQE believes this is necessary to ensure accountability from the State, school districts, individual schools, elected officials, and the community.

By acting as a catalyst for discussion and information sharing, NQE hopes to encourage the public to become actively involved in Nevada’s public education system. Through the design and support of education policies, programs and legislation, NQE seeks to improve academic achievement. Nevadans for Quality Education will strive to be the voice for students, parents and community members who want to improve education in Nevada.

Help to define and inform the public on educational issues.	Hold the 17 Nevada school districts accountable for meeting annual goals and reducing achievement gaps.
